Being a traveling wife

Hi there! Wow, I have been thinking about starting to write forever now, mainly because my brain is going 1,000 miles per minute and I have so much in there that I want to get out #girlprobs. But, seriously ever since I moved away I have thought about journaling and writing because what my husband and I have gone through in such a short period of time is pretty insane to me and I feel like hearing our story and what my friends have been going through might be helpful for someone out there. I have been asked by many friends back home in Nebraska if I would ever start a blog and I honestly wanted to but was always nervous to put it all in writing, but I guess here we go!

I know writing this would help a new military wife, fiance or girl friend adjust to the new life of following and supporting your significant other. Being a military spouse is such an amazing thing but through this journey I fully understand why there is a stereotype about "military spouses" and we will dive into that later. My #milso friends and I have been through so much already and they have seriously been my rock ever since this journey started so shout out to them, you know who you are.

Soooooo let's get started. This is me, hi, hello... a little bit about me for those of you who don't know me, I am currently a second grade teacher here in Texas. I was born and raised in Nebraska and I love love love my friends and family so much. My passions in life are Jesus, dogs, coffee, photography, dance, Fall, and kids (not in any specific order at all ;)). I have moved 4 times in two years since moving away and have gone through the stresses of finding a job and getting re-certified in 2 different states already, ugh that's where those stereotypes come in... But enough about that, let's get started.

Let's take it back to the beginning. My main passion in life has become photography, it all started almost four years ago in 2015 when I was living in Nebraska going to school for an education degree and Tom and I were doing long distance while he was going to the Naval Academy. For about two and a half years we would see each other every 2-3 months, and when we did see each other it would only be for a few days. (We will get more into our story later on).

Photography was such great outlet for me, especially when I would be moving across the United States away from what had been my home for my whole life.

When I knew I would be moving away from Nebraska, I was heart broken because I would be leaving my family and my best friends. I was so terrified of missing moments with them, but I was also so excited because I knew I had been praying for this opportunity. I had been praying to God for a man exactly like Tom, and he appeared out of nowhere, I was also praying for an opportunity to make me grow, get me out of my comfort zone, which was Nebraska.

Nebraska had been a place where I felt secure and comfortable, but God wanted me to know what else was out there and dang did he do good. Photography gave me an outlet to meet so many military wives and also make people feel good and I think that's why I have fallen in love with photography so much!

I can't wait to share with you all the places we have experienced, amazing people we have met and things that have happened so far in this journey of being a traveling wife.
