We made it! We actually moved to Iwakuni Japan, as we landed in Japan I looked around and was overwhelmed by all the signs and text on things that I couldn't understand. Almost a sense of excitement to have to force myself to learn all these new things. We left the airport driving in a tiny little car on the opposite side of the road, I thought we were going to run into every car turning towards us, as we got to our temporary housing we were greeted with Japanese treats, candy, chips, drinks, beer (Chuhai is amazing), I told my husband, "Everything here is just so much more fun!" But seriously every single person we met was so nice, sometimes overly nice and everything is just so clean...like they don't produce trash here? Or they actually care to pick it up and keep it off the streets? Crazy!
After a couple days we decided to venture out in town, our first stop was the Iwakuni Castle and Kintai bridge. I was in awe of everything I was seeing, the architecture and history of it all was breathtaking. There was so much to see and learn and in that moment I knew the Lord had put us here for a reason. Something that we thought two kids from Nebraska would never experience and here we were, in our new home, Iwakuni, Japan!
I cannot wait to blog all of our crazy finds and adventures along the way, I can already tell this experience is going to be life changing!
